I’ve shot Deal pier so many times, and I never get bored of it. That concrete structure heading out to sea always makes for a compelling subject at sunrise. On this morning, however, I tried to shoot it a little differently. Low down, with as shallow a depth of field as I could manage. The wet pebbles in the foreground helped make the shot, the light catching them side on and helping to give that classic bokeh ball look. With the pastel colours in the sky, it made for a soft, pleasing image.
