Deal is one of my favourite places to shoot, and the pier always makes for an interesting subject at sunrise. It’s even better when there is a bit of wind and big waves crashing onto the pier legs and the shore. On this occasion I waited until the sun was just peaking between a gap in the legs, aiming to get a sunstar just as a wave crashed in front of me. Shooting towards the sea in windy conditions is always a challenge, but when you get the right shot, it’s certainly worth it!
